A60 Steel Truss Bridge for Majene Has Been Through the Galvanization Process
The A60 truss bridge project, which is being worked on by PT Danusari Mitra Sejahtera, has now gone through the galvanization process and can be delivered immediately. The bridge will be used as a replacement for the old bridge in Majene, West Sulawesi.
The term galvanization refers to the coating of steel and iron with zinc to prevent corrosion. Zinc is a metal that is relatively rust-resistant in most environmental conditions in which iron and steel are present.
Zinc acts as a cathodic protection that protects the steel, which means that even if the galvanized metal is scratched and exposed to air, the steel is still protected from rust. Galvanization is also widely used because it is cheap and easy to maintain.
